Santa Barbara High School Dons Baseball

The Santa Barbara Dons Baseball program has always demonstrated strong character traits, a reflection of the Dons spirit and pride. They are disciplined players who show respect for the game of baseball and its traditions, excellence in the classroom and in the community.

The Dons are 16x Channel League Champions, have made the CIF Playoffs for 28 consecutive years and boast 8 Major League Baseball Players and 1 Hall of Famer.

Since 2018, the Dons Baseball Program has proudly seen 20 of its players go on to play at the collegiate level.

  • 7 players have competed at the NCAA Division I level

  • 2 players have advanced to Division II programs

  • 4 players have played at the Division III level

In addition to our collegiate success, 2 former Dons are currently playing professional baseball, demonstrating the high caliber of talent and development within our program. This year, 3 current Dons will be moving on and furthering their careers at the collegiate level.

All-Channel League Baseball Honors & Steve Schuck Wins Coach of the Year

Santa Barbara High head coach Steve Schuck was named the Channel League Coach of the Year.

Schuck helped guide the Dons to an overall record of 18-7 and the program’s first Channel League title since the 2019 season.

As the league champions, the Dons were the most represented team on the All-Channel League First Team with four players.

Seniors Michael Firestone and Kaden Spencer wrapped up their Santa Barbara High careers in fashion, earning spots on the All-League First Team.

Junior Zeke Adderley and Sophomore Jetner Welch each played huge roles in the league title run as well on their way to the First Team honors.

As for the All-League Second Team, senior Liam Keithley and junior Grady Wilson represented the Dons as strong pieces within the offense while also making an impact defensively.

Rounding out the All-League honorees for Santa Barbara High were junior Kai Mault and sophomore Derek Jaye, who were named All-League Honorable Mentions.
